Two Wedding Ceremonies for Separated Parents

Posted by admin - January 26th, 2012

Q: My fiance’utes parents went through a messy divorce, and his siblings and mom hate his / her dad. We had been discussing the marriage, and his siblings said that we better have two marriage ceremonies, one for mother’s side and one for father’s side of the family. I think it is really an unfair desire. What can we say to them?

Any:It’s definitely an unfair demand, and you will only hope these were kidding! There’utes no reason for you personally two to have to put on a couple of ceremonies to placate everyone. Inform them, “We’re i’m sorry you feel this way, but we actually want everybody to put apart their variations and come to your wedding. We’re inviting either side of your loved ones, and we wish everyone will certainly attend and become happy for people.” They may be annoyed, but hopefully they will be in a position to deal with this on your wedding ceremony. Many divorced family members need to suck it up and exist together at their own children’s wedding ceremonies, and it’s often hard for everyone involved. But remember that it is your day, and everyone needs to acknowledge and also accept that. Don’big t dwell on this. Everything will work out.
